Frederick Home Owners - Mortgage Fraud is Increasing
Economic downturns seem to bring out the scammers more than any other time. Frederick home owners who are having a difficult time making their mortgage payment need to be aware that there are answers to their dilemma, but there are also wolves in sheep's clothing skulking about. 
Reports of Mortgage fraud are up 26%. Sadly, mortgage fraud is at an all-time high. Freddie Mac has published this video about mortgage fraud.
What is considered mortgage fraud? The FBI defines it: "any material misstatement, misrepresentation or omission relied upon by an underwriter or lender to fund, purchase or insure a loan." Check out the FBI website for information on mortgage scams. If you suspect mortgage fraud, call the FBI and report it.
