Frederick Real Estate - To Buy This Year or Next?
This is not the usual post for me...the spammy "now is the best time to buy..." But I feel compelled to make 2 simple points.
If you are trying to decide whether to make that big purchase, whether a house, a boat, a car, whatever; there are 2 reasons to do it now: Inflation and Interest rates.
1. Interest rates are going up. I don't know if it will be next month, next season, next year, but they will go up. The Fed will raise rates to ward off inflation, and other economic forces are at work to cause interest rates to rise.
2. Inflation is around the corner. The dollars you have to spend next year will be worth less than the dollars you have today. As the Fed is printing boat-loads of money as I sit here and type, they are inflating the dollar.
That's it, short and sweet, two compelling reasons, (not mentioning $8000 first-time buyer credit) to make the decision today, not next year.
